TSPAN Strategic Planning Goals 2009 - 2010
1. Increase TSPAN Membership through effective recruitment and retention activities
A. Promote ASPAN/TSPAN memberships at all district/state meetings and on TSPAN website.
B. Organize Membership Committee to contact new members with welcome information and discount vouchers for educational opportunities. Maintain current membership list.
C. Provide mentor contacts with active local districts ETAPAN, MTSPAN, SETSPAN.
D. Maintain a solid financial base to provide and market TSPAN educational opportunities for members and nonmembers.
1. National/ State Conference
2. CPAN/CAPA certification/recertification.
3. Recruiter of the year award
2. Ensure TSPAN remains recognized as the professional nursing organization representing our specialty.
A. Promote acceptance of ASPAN Standards of PeriAnesthesia Nursing for care of all PeriAnesthesia patients regardless of clinical setting.
B. Encourage involvement from all phases of PeriAnesthesia including pre- and post- operative, endoscopy, radiology, cardiac catheterization lab, ambulatory surgery areas, office based staff.
C. Promote ASPAN/TSPAN and PeriAnesthesia Nurse Awareness Week via media opportunities.
D. Encourage members to obtain/retain CPAN/CAPA Certification.
E. Encourage TSPAN members to become speakers and/or educational resources
F. Provide 2 Educational offerings each year.
3. Expand and Promote TSPAN web site
A. Campaign for members to market website via e-mail, newsletter article, district meetings and annual meeting notification.
B. TSPAN website focus on content that will promote involvement by the general membership.
C. TSPAN Eye-opener on web site under members only.
4. Review TSPAN policy & procedures.
5. Increase participation in Community Service through Second Harvest Food Bank.
6. Encourage Leadership mentoring opportunities through education by involvement in Component Development Institute, Leadership Retreats and maintaining current TSPAN Leader Manuals.
